Between August 11 and 16, 2025, Professor Daniel Novaes Gomes Pereira, from the Graduate Program in Education (research line: Teacher Education, Teaching Work, and Educational Practices), presented his doctoral study on autism, supervised by Professor Ana Paula de Freitas, at an international event in Russia.
Professor Daniel Novaes took part in the IX ISCAR Summer University (International Society for Cultural-Historical Activity Research), held at the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, in Moscow, Russia. This is one of the most important international events on Cultural-Historical Theory, as it is linked to the chair of Cultural-Historical Psychology within the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The congress, promoted by the ISCAR Regional Section for Russia and Neighboring Countries, brought together researchers from different countries to discuss best educational, psychological, and pedagogical practices grounded in cultural-historical theory and activity theory.
During the event, Professor Daniel Novaes presented his doctoral research entitled “The constitution of a Child with autism in Elementary school” at the Russian Autism Federation’s Autism Center. The presentation drew significant interest and fostered a rich dialogue with international experts in the field. “It was a magical moment, marked by the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of international dialogue on school inclusion and autism,” emphasized the researcher.
The ISCAR Summer University 2025 highlighted the importance of international scientific cooperation and the development of innovative educational practices that promote learning and human development in diverse sociocultural contexts.
